Korean drama “Marry My Husband” has finally ended its run and I totally enjoyed every single bit. Ok, well, perhaps except for scenes with Boa in it.
But all in all, it is an enjoyable drama with elements of revenge and romance. It was so empowering to see our female lead finally lead her happily-ever-after ending after being sidelined by her backstabbing best friend for so long.

Starring Park Min Young, Na In Woo, Lee Yi Kyung and Song Ha Yoon, Marry My Husband is a webtoon adaptation following the life of our cancer-stricken heroine who got killed by her husband after confronting him and her best friend in bed together. Miraculously, she then time-travelled to 10 years ago and got a chance to rewrite her future and get revenge.
And her way of getting revenge? To let her best friend take over her sorry life by marrying her bastard husband instead.
I like the vibe of Please Marry My Husband. Although it centers on our female lead getting revenge, it is not those heavy dark revenge drama but one that is light-hearted, breezy and fast-paced.
It shows our female lead Kang Ji Won (acted by Park Min Young) overcoming her past insecurities and meekness after repeatedly getting gaslit by her psychotic best friend to become a better version of herself in her new life. Of course, this includes experiencing success at work and a newfound romance from our dashing male lead Yoo Ji Hyeok (acted by Na In Woo) who is also her superior at her workplace in her new life.
The key characters in Marry My Husband all acted really naturally and drew audience in with their complex characters and inner motivations. 
The antagonists in Marry My Husband, namely in the form of Park Min Hwan (acted by Lee Yi Kyung) and Jeong Su Min (acted by Song Ha Yoon) are so thick-skinned and unscrupulous that you can’t stop watching them.
Kudos have to be given to Song Ha Yoon who really nailed the role of Jeong Su Min very well. Although this is not a lead role, however I think this is a dream role that most good actresses should fight to act in cos it is so layered and eye-catching.
Secretly jealous of the female lead Kang Ji Won who continued being positive in spite of hardships thrown her way, Jeong Su Min sneakily creates trouble behind Kang Ji Won’s back to destroy her life while pretending to be her sweet supportive best friend. Song Ha Yoon breathed life into this conniving and hypocritical role who appears to be demure and kind on surface.
Meanwhile Park Min Hwan is a total asshole with a violent streak who tries to appear like a good boyfriend in others’ eyes. He bosses his meek girlfriend around and lives off her while cheating behind her back.
Lee Yi Kyung is such a terrific actor. It is amazing how he is able to add some comedic elements into this otherwise unlikeable character. Sometimes I would laugh out loud at his portrayal and forget about how evil his character truly is.
As a viewer, seeing Jeong Su Min and Park Min Hwan living a good life off Kang Ji Won really gets my blood boiling. But it is precisely such hateable characters that make me root for our female lead to ruin both of them.
Thankfully, we still have a dashing male lead to swoon over. Yoo Ji Hyuk (acted by Na In Woo) is a chaebol with a past encounter with Kang Ji Won that piqued his interest. He never knew that he had special feelings for this girl until the day he received news that she had passed away (no thanks to the 2 evil-doers in her life).
Infuriated by her untimely death, Yoo Ji Hyuk got into a car accident and woke up to have time-travelled back in time to meet Kang Ji Won as an employee in his company. Determined not to waste this opportunity, he strives to prevent Kang Ji Won from leading down the same terrible path and always appears as a knight in shining armor to help her.
Yoo Ji Hyuk is a perfect male leading character who appears reserved and gruff on surface but is very sensitive and observant about Kang Ji Won.
Unlike most typical chaebol characters in Korean dramas who often bumbles about not understanding the typical ways of life, Yoo Ji Hyuk is competent and resourceful, and goes out of his way to help the female lead using his power and financial means. Not just so, he does not let misunderstandings come in between him and the female lead, and would actively resolve it.
Frankly, he is the perfect guy. And Na In Woo is really perfect for it. I really like how he perfected (Hehe, 3 perfects in one row) the reserved smile he accidentally reveals whenever he is charmed by the guileless Kang Ji Won. Na In Woo has such a nice and captivating smile! Frankly I thought he was already good looking enough even before his so-called makeover with the thick-framed glasses and ill-fitting suit.
Marry My Husband was really fast-paced and addictive one episode after another. However it took a downturn when Boa suddenly appeared as a new character in the second half of the drama as a new antagonist – former fiancee of Yoo Ji Hyuk who is out to get rid of Kang Ji Won for snatching away her man whom she never used to have an interest in.
I would prefer it if the drama just focuses on the two original antagonists instead of adding a lame new character whose acting pales in comparison to the rest. Also, Boa’s mouth and lips are really distracting because I can’t quite tell what exactly is weird about it except that it looks very unnatural and puffy.
Her character is also a lot more one-dimensional. I still couldn’t fathom how a rich heiress would resort to sleeping with the loser Park Min Hwan just so that he would do her bidding to help her in her revenge plans.
In short, her addition made an originally focused storyline unfocused and does not add to the entertainment value. However given that she ended up taking over Ji Hyuk’s car accident death in the original timeline, I got the intention of her role in the end.
