This is a credible article, but I wish they'd spent more time outlining the scale of the problem than gathering quotes from people who are all essentially restating that slavery exists. The two questions I most wanted to have answered are 1) Approximately how many modern slaves are there today in each of these high-risk countries, and 2) What is the business model that supposedly makes this a billion dollar industry? This article raised more questions than it answered, but the sources were well cited and it is an important problem to analyze, especially as migratory crises are expected to continue in the near future.

This was one of the better articles I've read in the last few days. The author not only brought up the alarming report recently released on the modern slavery index, but also brought in different supporting sources, AND looked elsewhere for responses being taken by relevant agencies and organizations. They also did a decent job describing actually what "modern slavery" is, not just what it's definition was. In addition, the author drew on contemporary examples of flagrant human trafficking and other forms of modern slavery, such as Cambodia. Overall good job, trustworthy, and informative. It's frightening to read about the increase in this horrific activity. I'm glad that this issue is being talked about. It should get alot more coverage. Very Newsworthy.

With plenty of statistics, graphs, and links, author Katy Scott provides updated context to modern day slavery. The article details how organizations are measuring the risk and who is at risk. Countries like Syria experience war and relocation, slavery in nearby countries has been increasing.

I well worded and fairly easy to follow article despite the large amount of information and statistics. Plenty of reliable sources shedding light on a growing global issue that needs to be a part of the political conversation.
