Arizona RepublicView CommentsA naked teenage burglary suspect was fatally shot by a Scottsdale homeowner on Wednesday night, Scottsdale police said Thursday.Officers responded to a home near Happy Valley and Alma School roads at around 9 p.m. after receiving reports of a trespasser between 18 and 19 years old, police spokesman Officer Kevin Watts said.The resident reported he confronted a man attempting to enter his home and ran him off, Watts said.Police received a call at around 10:50 p.m. saying that an intruder had just been shot near 92nd Street and Pinnacle Peak Road, Watts said.There, officers found a deceased male suspect matching the description of the earlier trespassing incident.Investigators discovered that the home was occupied by a 41-year-old man, his wife and three children. The man reported that while working in an outbuilding on the property, the family dog alerted the homeowner to activity inside the home, Watts said.When the man entered one&nbsp;child's room, he discovered the naked man holding a large piece of wood in a "threatening manner." The young man then "charged the resident," Watts said.The homeowner fired two shots,&nbsp;killing&nbsp;the intruder.&nbsp;There is no indication of other suspects. None of the residents were injured and there is no danger to the surrounding community, Watts said.The suspect's identity is being withheld pending family notification, Watts said.
