What seems like a straightforward report on a court ruling actually turns out to be a surprisingly deep dive into surveillance techniques, police investigations, and citizen rights. This is well written; it does a lot in a short amount of space. The topic is highly relevant even though it's local news. And there are a lot of sources and diverse voices from the 'pro' and 'con' sides of the argument. Great stuff.
