In a new interview with the Deadline, Ridley Scott, director of Blade Runner, explains why he was originally going to use clips from The Shining at the end of Blade Runner. This article had a large excerpt from that interview, and then analyzed it further, explaining that the original ending did not align with the tone of the overall movie.
