Skip to contentThe Kane County Clerk’s Office will begin demonstrations this week of new voting equipment it intends to roll out for the March 2024 primary election.The first demonstration of the Hart Verity Duo equipment, made by Hart Intercivic, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. in Batavia. A second demonstration will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive in Elgin.Kane County Clerk John Cunningham called the new equipment “an upgrade of our current equipment.” The new equipment is different, though, in that it gives voters a printed version of their ballot which they then put into a ballot box.Voters will start their voting on a touch screen instead of the rolling wheel that has been in use in the county for years.“I encourage you to come to one of these events to learn about and try voting on the new machines prior to next year’s elections,” Cunningham said.The rest of the demonstration events are: Nov. 13, 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., at Messenger Public Library, 113 Oak St., North Aurora; Nov. 14, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave., Aurora; Nov. 15, 10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Sugar Grove Public Library, 125 Municipal Drive, Sugar Grove; Nov. 15, 3 to 7 p.m., Gail Borden Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin; and Nov. 17, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Town &amp; Country Public Library, 320 E. North St, Elburn.Also, Nov. 20, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Vaughan Center, 2121 W. Indian Trail, Aurora; Dec. 2, noon to 5 p.m., Kane County Flea Market, 525 S. Randall Road, St. Charles; Dec. 5, 1 to 4:30 p.m., Geneva Public Library, 227 S. Seventh St., Geneva; Dec. 7, 3 to 7 p.m., Aurora Public Library, 101 S.
