The latest patch for Starfield arrived yesterday, but it’s not really worth getting excited about as most of the changes are pretty minor.This update, aptly titled “Starfield 1.7.36,” brings a major change that should please at least some players: you can finally change the field of view without having to modify the game. The patch note itself states that it “allows players using first-person or third-person perspectives to adjust their field of view,” which will be useful for those who may experience motion sickness with the game’s default setting. It’s obviously a small change, but not every update can add a million and one new features.Watch on YouTubeThere were also some performance and stability updates. There’s improved stability on PC for those of you using Intel Arc GPUs, so hurry up! And there’s also the incredibly vague PC and Xbox patch note with “various additional stability and performance improvements” that Bethesda is probably too boring to list anyway. But it does at least mean you should experience a slightly smoother ride, at least as smooth as any Bethesda game can be. Finally, there’s a small change for the Echoes of the Past quest that “fixed an issue where tunnel creatures could choose a location that would prevent progression.”Obviously it’s still early days for Starfield, as the game only came out a month ago (I know, the passage of time makes me uncomfortable too), so there are some mods that might be relevant to those who want a smoother gaming experience – although they do keep in mind that new patches can sometimes prevent the mods from running. Therefore, make sure that the mods are also up to date. There is a mod that allows you to summon your ship on command or the best UI mod recently added in a whole crafting element. You could even try this mode, which actually gives you good rewards for killing Starborn. Where would we be without modders? Probably complain on Twitter.
