XBOX surprised fans earlier this year by announcing a dramatic price increase for a number of products.In June, the price of the Xbox Series X increased along with the ever-popular Xbox Game Pass.This was a huge disappointment for fans as Xbox is often viewed as the budget-friendly option among consoles.The Xbox Series S in particular is almost half as expensive as the PS5 and significantly cheaper than the Nintendo Switch or the Steam Deck.However, that could soon change as fans in one region have noticed a significant price increase for the Series S.Brazilian gamers have noticed that the price of the cheaper Xbox Series S has increased by 50%.Previously, the Series S cost between R$2,000 and R$2.5,000 (around £330-£400) in the country.It has since been spotted in stores for up to R$3.5k, the equivalent of £570, more than the PS5 in many regions.Although Brazil is home to a large number of gamers, video games and consoles in the region have always been known for being very expensive.Since Brazil does not have a large gaming industry, most of the hardware and software must be imported with high import duties.However, even by Brazilian standards, this is a huge price increase that is sure to reduce Xbox sales in this region.More importantly, the price increase in Brazil could mean that there could be price increases for the console in other regions.While it is unlikely that the increase will be as high as 50% in other regions, it could still mean that a significant increase is on the way.If you want to learn more about Xbox, check out the games coming to Xbox Game Pass in October.Written by Georgina Young on behalf of GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN.Looking for tips and tricks for your favorite consoles and games?
