Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isiah 40:28-31The prophet is addressing men and women who are captive. They are living in a foreign land and serving strange people. They were in utter despair. It seemed that God had forgotten about them.You cannot understand life without beginning with a knowledge of God and ending with God.God is everlasting. He is reliable. He is eternal – without a beginning and without an end. He is the creator of the heavens and the earth. No problem is too great for God.Hebrews 12:2 says, “looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…”It’s God’s story. He’s the author. We are part of His tale. And He never grows weary. His understanding is absolute and He’s absolutely trustworthy. The Contemporary English Version states, “The Lord gives strength to those who are weary.”We have to have a God that is everlasting. If you can determine His origin or pinpoint His departure, then He is not God. But we serve the one, true living God.Even perfect people have stories – financial disaster, lost loved ones, divorce, crushed dreams, lonely homes, dead end jobs. Everyone has a story, and all of the stories are painful. But according to the Word of God, the story isn’t our own. We aren’t making the decisions, writing the character descriptions, penciling in the plot – God is the author and finisher of our faith.&nbsp;My God is everlasting. He faints not. He never grows weary. He is writing the story.Peter had picked up his fisherman ways. He was rough. He was cursing. He was lying. He had lost everything when Judas betrayed Jesus. He was at his breaking point. His hopes, his faith, his tomorrow all vanished in a few moments. He was broken and without answers. Roman soldiers, angry zealots, blood thirsty mobs and Jesus bloodied and beaten. It seemed all was over. But Peter wasn’t writing the story. It wasn’t even Peter’s story that was being told. God was writing the story. Peter was included in the tale that unfolded. He went from utter despair to preaching on the day of Pentecost in a microsecond. In a blip against the backdrop of eternity, Peter went from being at his breaking point to saying, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Acts 2:38.If there is no death, then there is no resurrection. We need something to happen. We are at our breaking point. We are weary. We are without strength. We do not have any answers. It seems like all is over. But thank God we are not writing the story. The story is not even about us. We are part of His story. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28.Anyone that says only God can help is someone in position for a miracle.It is my prayer this week that God does the miraculous in your life.
