I am super excited to share a tutorial for one of my favorite styles these days, now that my hair is shorter- the Boxer Braids.&nbsp;A couple of days ago I was wearing them on my Instagram stories and I had a lot of inquiries/questions on them so I wanted to walk you through my steps. If you want to see a video tutorial of it, make sure you check out my IGTV tutorial for them as well!&nbsp;&nbsp;These are great for the gym, taking your kids to the pool, basically any time when you are going to be running around, especially when it is hot outside.&nbsp;Brush out your hair and use dry shampoo to get rid of all the oils. You will also want to create texture and add “grit” to your hair. My absolute favorite product to do this is&nbsp;Puff Me. I have found this step to be especially key now that my hair is shorter.&nbsp;Next you will want to use pomade, I use the Kenra Flexible Fiber. I like the flexible fiber because it isn’t too sticky and it is very soft.&nbsp;You will take a section from the top and split it into 3 equal parts and create a Dutch braid. If you are not familiar with a Dutch Braid, I have a slowed down tutorial on YouTube.&nbsp;Keep your braid very close to your scalp and braid toward the back of your head and not the floor.&nbsp;You can finish the braid by securing it with a ponytail or a bun, I prefer to use a bun and I use clear elastics.Before you secure the braid you will want to stretch, or widen, the braid so this is technically step five, but since you need to secure the braid slightly to do this, I wanted to share it in this order.&nbsp;Pull pieces of the separate braid portions gently to widen the entire braid, beginning from the bottom to the top.Once you are done with both sides pull the sides of your hair gently up and secure at the “seam” of your braid with bobby pins.Spray the Puff Me on the hair again and pull apart the braid at the top to create volume.I like to finish by pulling some fringe and pulling apart the braid a little more and fluffing the pieces. This helps to create volume. I think it makes it look a little more grown-up but it is totally personal preference.
