Skip to contentThe Disney College Program (DCP) is–in my opinion–one of the best opportunities that students can take advantage of during their college career. After all, not only do participants have access to the Disney Parks, but there are also some amazing education and networking opportunities! In fact, the Disney College Program is founded on three core attributes: Living, Learning, and Earning. Between having the opportunity to live in Florida, earn money and create magic in the parks and resorts, and learn through courses and networking events, the Disney College Program is a truly amazing opportunity.&nbsp;Along with these three core pillars, students participating in the Disney College Program can make new friends, gain experience in the tourism and hospitality industries, and spend their free time exploring the Disney Parks (checking must-dos off their Disney College Program bucket list), leading to numerous memories. To help capture these memories, these are 8 photos every student should take during the Disney College Program!(I participated in the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 programs and specific details about the Disney College Program and its offerings have changed since then. Check the official Disney College Program website to confirm details and offerings. My opinions are my own and do not represent The Walt Disney Company.)One of the most exciting moments of every participant’s Disney College Program experience is the journey there, knowing that several months of magic and memories are ahead of them. This is why, if you are taking a road trip to Florida, you should stop by the Florida Welcome Center!In addition to the “Welcome to Florida” sign, the Florida Welcome Center is also known for its free samples of orange juice, a Floridian staple. The welcome center is also a great opportunity to sign up for a toll pass as well as browse the racks of brochures for destinations to visit on your days off.Of course, if you need any recommendations for things to do around Orlando, be sure to check out A Local’s Guide for Exploring Orlando for tips on the best food, drinks, and shopping around town!During arrival week, Disney Programs puts on a themed Welcome Event for newly arriving college program participants. This includes photo opportunities, character photos, food, dancing, and so much more!Since there are designated photo opportunities at the event, this makes it a really great opportunity to take some photos to mark the beginning of your Disney College Program!From ghostly uniforms to royal couture, there is so much variety in the Disney costumes! After receiving my acceptance, I not only spent months wondering what my specific role would be, but what costume I would wear. Of course, once I received my itinerary and learned my role (Epcot Park Entry), I was immediately eager to see what my costumes would look like! (Fun Fact: Epcot has two entrances, meaning two different costumes!) In fact, I loved the Disney costumes so much that I would often pick up shifts at other parks just to experience working at another park and wearing a new costume.That being said, be sure to get plenty of photos of yourself in your costume throughout your program! These costumes are so unique and one of the tell-tale signs of working at Disney!Whether you are working in the Parks, the Resorts, or at Disney Springs, there are so many work locations and opportunities to make magic. That being said, be sure to grab a photo of yourself in your work location! This will be an awesome photo to look back on one day, whether just for the memories or to show friends and family. It’s also an interesting “time capsule” piece, as many locations change their design/theme/costume over the years!As an essential piece of your costume and a tell-tale sign of being a Disney Cast Member, getting a photo of (or with) your Disney name tag is an absolute must! Some ideas are yourself holding up your name tag, a photo of your name tag in front of your home park’s icon, or even a photo of your nametag in front of your work location! (Or, even better, all three!)As you walk down Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom, you may be surprised to learn that the names listed on the windows above you aren’t just for decoration. These names pay recognition to many important contributors to Disney Parks, such as Mary Blair, Harriet Burns, and Roy Disney. Of course, Main Street U.S.A. wouldn’t be complete without a door recognizing another major contributor to the Disney Parks…the Cast Members!Honoring the Cast Members that made Walt Disney’s dream a reality, the Casting Agency Door is a must-have photo during your Disney College Program. At this point, it’s practically a tradition to take a picture with the door when you start your job with the company and/or switch roles! Plus, it is such a fun way to highlight the magic that the Cast Members bring to the parks, whether you are working on-stage or off-stage.As one of the final CP seasons to go through the previous Disney Housing complexes (Vista Way, the Commons, Patterson Court, and Chatham Square), I can definitely say that I’m jealous of the new housing complex, Flamingo Crossings Village!While enjoying your days off, be sure to snap a few photos of the fun you’re having around the complex. Whether you’re hanging out with roommates by the pool or challenging a competitor to a giant game of chess, these will be some of the little moments to look back on. After all, you can still have fun even if you’re not spending the day at the parks!Along with photos around Flamingo Crossings Village, another great opportunity is to take a group photo with your roommates outside your apartment door! A group photo with your roommates will be yet another great photo to look back on after your program, especially since your roommates will be such a big part of your life during your Disney College Program!Perhaps the final and most bittersweet photo opportunity is the photo with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse at your Disney College Program graduation. During this photo opportunity, the famous couple is wearing graduation gowns as you celebrate the completion of your program. Although your Disney College Program is coming to an end, there are many months of magical memories behind you, including the moment you receive your completion certificate.These 8 photo ideas are just a few ideas to capture the memories from your Disney College Program, so it shouldn’t stop there!
