The show that managed to find a cult audience first debuted on Comedy Central, before moving to (then) HBO Max for season two. The show will wrap up after its last episode, which debuts today.The reason for the show’s cancellation most likely is tied to recent allegations against the show’s creators, Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there’s been multiple reports that Kelly overworked the crew and was verbally abusive, while Schneider just stood by and enabled the behavior. There was a formal investigation, but ultimately, no immediate wrongdoing had been found.While multiple sources have weighed in on their behavior, perhaps the strangest of all is the most notable of all: Tina Fey. Fey have an acceptance speech in March that directly weighed in on the controversy, long before it was made public.“Nobody indulges writers like Lorne Michaels,” she said. “Lorne, you have unleashed an army of monsters into the world. You know it, I know it, and the crew of The Other Two knows it — oh I was supposed to change that. I was supposed to change that. That’s inappropriate. Oh well, it’s not livestreaming.”The creators wound up releasing their own statement, that did not acknowledge the controversy.“It is bittersweet to say goodbye to the Dubek family after three seasons, but we always knew, both creatively and personally, that this was where we wanted to end their stories,” Kelly and Schneider said in a joint statement. “And because we are quite literally out of ways to humiliate Drew Tarver, so what’s the point?
