Emberly wasn’t thrilled, and she missed her after one night apart . I guess you can’t blame her, they HAVE slept every night together since birth, and while their past rooms have changed a lot through the years, they’ve always been together.A new room for Jocelynn called for a more modern, stylish, teen makeover. The twins came up with a plan, picked colors and even drafted all of their ideas. I definitely made a few helpful suggestions, bought a couple new pieces of furniture, and taught them a bunch about how to paint – but I can honestly say that I did NONE of the grunt work. It was AWESOME! hahaha!All the purging, cleaning, measuring, painting and clean up was done by the twins! It’s amazing what teenagers can do when they put their minds to something!Paint colors were chosen first, of course.Privilege Green, Rachel Pink and Wilderness – all by Sherwin Williams. They started by marking their sunburst pattern on the wall with yarn and thumb tacks, then traced those lines with a ruler and pencil so they knew where to tape things off. Once they labeled each section, they started painting one color at a time. Drying time in-between took a little while, but it was worth it!We found a bunch of framed art for 70% off at Hobby Lobby and then made exact replicas of each frame size with paper and some tape. This is the EASIEST way to ensure that things are placed exactly where you want, without a ton of nail holes in the wall or awkward spacing. I’ve used this method on my other gallery wall layouts!Here’s how it turned out! We LOVE IT!I’m still working on finishing touches with Jocelynn’s bed and nightstand area, so I’ll show you those next, once they’re done! But I’m tellin’ ya, this Painted sunburst, color-blocked wall has become my new favorite place in the house.And now I’ll leave you with a cute video the twins made during this project. Enjoy!
