Skip to main contentYou have permission to edit this article.EditHomeNewsLocal EventsSportsBusinessA&amp;EAnnouncementsObituariesAutomotiveClassifiedsSponsored ContentThis afternoon South High School was placed into lockdown and Johnson Jr. High School and Goins Elementary were placed into a secure perimeter.&nbsp;Earlier this morning, a School Resource Officer received a report that a firearm was inside of South High School.&nbsp;A K9 team specializing in firearms detection from the Laramie County Sheriff’s Office was called in to sniff search the building.&nbsp;At the same time, an unrelated incident occurred near the 500 block of Snyder Avenue - an officer conducted a high-risk traffic stop on a stolen vehicle.&nbsp;Due to the proximity of the schools, and the tip officers had received regarding the firearm, the decision was made to place the schools into a lockdown for the safety of students and staff.&nbsp;The building is now clear, with no evidence of a firearm, and the traffic stop has been resolved.&nbsp;&nbsp;The lockdown at South has been lifted.&nbsp;Additionally, the secure perimeters at Johnson and Goins were also lifted.Success!
