Skip to contentStarters and SidesNo CommentsCostco is selling boxes of Red’s Organic Bean and Cheese Burritos and, since my wife always orders the bean burrito when we go out for Mexican, I figured we should give these a try!After we ate a couple of the burritos we had mixed feelings.I am not going to fault Red’s for making a bland burrito as I am sure some people will find them to be absolutely perfect.&nbsp; However, this is not a product we plan on buying again.ContentsRed’s provides cooking instructions for the frozen burritos using either an oven or microwave.&nbsp; Regardless of how you cook them they need to be heated to an internal temperature of 165F.Oven Method (Preferred)Microwave MethodThe burrito was loaded with pinto beans, rice and a mix of cheeses.We struggled here because, while the burrito was exactly as advertised, it was simply lacking in the flavor department.&nbsp; My wife and I both ate a couple of bites and decided that what it really needed was a few shakes of hot sauce.My wife went with Frank’s hot sauce and I went with Cholula.&nbsp; I think I made the much better decision!The burrito was moderately filling and made for a halfway decent lunch but I was surprised to find it was much smaller than I expected.We haven’t had any more of these since our initial taste test but we do plan on keeping the rest for quick lunches when we have nothing tasty sitting around in the refrigerator.Red’s says that one bean burrito is a single serving and has the following nutritional information:The burritos are pretty decent from a nutrition perspective which is always a welcome surprise for a processed frozen food.It is also worth noting that the burritos are completely vegetarian and organic.The tortilla is made from wheat so this product is not gluten free.The 10 count box of frozen Red’s Bean, Rice and Cheese Burritos is Item Number 1584258 and can be found in the freezer section of the warehouse.I bought the burritos for $12.49 which comes out to a cost of about $1.25 per burrito.&nbsp;&nbsp;Spending $1.25 on a bean burrito is kind of a toss up….it isn’t outrageous but I am not going to call it a screaming bargain either.Starters and SidesSnacksStarters and SidesStarters and SidesStarters and Sides
