restyled furniture + thrifty home decorIt’s hard to believe October is already here, the temperatures are cooling, and the leaves are beginning to turn.&nbsp; I have been slowly feathering my nest and adding some simple fall touches. I am welcoming the season into my home, but not going overboard with the fall decor.&nbsp; I thought I would give you a little tour of my home this fall, and share the simple ways I am making my home cozy for the season.***This post contains affiliate links.&nbsp; For my complete disclosure, see here.***I warmed up our white kitchen with some natural wood tones, seasonal fruit and fall leaves on the island.&nbsp;I didn’t go crazy with fall decor, but I did add a cute textured raffia pumpkin to the open shelves and a white pumpkin soup tureen (that actually makes a great cookie jar!).&nbsp; Dried artichokes in a rattan bowl add a bit more texture and warmth.Did you know that artichokes can bloom after you bring them home?&nbsp; I didn’t.&nbsp; I bought the artichokes at the grocery store this past summer. As they were drying out, I noticed that a couple of them developed gorgeous bright purple thistle-like blooms.&nbsp; Very cool!My wood serving boards are handy placed behind the stove, and they look pretty, too. The vintage mason jars and pharmacy bottles in shades of soft bluish green add a bit of color.Some great smelling pear soap at the kitchen sink feels fresh for fall.&nbsp;Our den is very light and bright, and my fall decor is mostly neutral.&nbsp; Even though there is a lot of white, I wanted this space to feel warm and welcoming as well. I used bronze tones and lots of pillows and baskets for texture.I added a thick knit throw with gorgeous tassels.&nbsp; It’s a pretty rusty brown color called “Tobacco.”&nbsp; I picked up some fresh magnolia stems and a cute sage green pumpkin at the grocery store.&nbsp;&nbsp;Did you notice the “new” table?&nbsp; It’s a vintage piece that I refinished this past week. I’ll be sharing details on that one very soon.I styled the DIY ledges with a vintage inspired mirror, family photos in layered frames, and a cute olive tree topiary.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I’ve mentioned before that our master bedroom is kind of a family hang out space.&nbsp; We watch tv, read and nap in here. I like to use lots of cozy layers on the bed as the weather turns cooler for snuggling up.&nbsp;&nbsp;I am in love with the chunky knit blanket on the end of the bed.&nbsp; It adds so much texture and looks beautiful simply thrown on the end of the bed.&nbsp;&nbsp;I placed a couple of twigs with leaves from our maple tree in a thrifted bottle. I like to put leaves in the windows where they are illuminated by the sunlight.&nbsp; It’s kind of like a stained glass effect, so pretty.&nbsp;The bedding is neutral, but with lots of cozy texture from my favorite cable knit pillow.For the sitting area, I used more leaves in a thrifted glass jar and a couple of natural looking pumpkins.The navy plaid pillows transition from summer to fall.
