Before taking her position with the museum, she served as the assistant superintendent for community&nbsp;relations and partnerships at Davenport Community Schools.Mullins' tenure at the Putnam saw the 2021 opening of the museum's World Culture Gallery and more recently, a comprehensive update of the regional history exhibit now called "Common Ground: Our Voice, Our Stories." It is one among several investments being made into the museum and a part of Putnam's master plan that has a goal of raising $7.5 million by the end of Mullins' tenure.&nbsp;In a news release, Putnam Board Chairman Kerry Smith said Mullins has served the museum admirably for the past four years by guiding the Putnam through the pandemic, refining the museum's mission and investing in facility improvements.&nbsp;"She will be greatly missed, but we all support her decision and applaud her commitment to the family," Smith said.&nbsp;The museum's board voted Monday to accept Mullins' resignation and to form a search committee to drive a professional search to place a new president/CEO by June 1, 2024, according to the announcement.CommentsGet the latest local business news delivered FREE to your inbox weekly.Putnam Museum and Science Center President/CEO Rachael Mullins speaks during a press conference Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, in Davenport.
