Skip to contentJacob Voorheis, a 2019 graduate of Edsel Ford High School was recently announced as the winner of the prestigious Will Eisner scholarship, awarded by the Society of Illustrators.Voorheis is currently a student at the College of Creative Studies in Detroit.The Will and Ann Eisner Family Foundation funds the scholarship, which is highly competitive and given to&nbsp; the “best comics and sequential art student currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in the US.”It is given during the student’s junior year of college only.Students must be selected by school faculty and then submit a portfolio for judging.Through this scholarship Voorheis will continue his goal of making accessible comics that “tell stories about deep personal issues that are covered by fun, fantastical, and/or action packed elements.” Jacob comments that “it is important to tell these stories and give something back to all the writers and artists and comic fans that inspired me to get to this point.”Most Popular
