Google is working on a feature in Android 14 that will allow users to use their smartphone as a webcam for desktops and laptops. Therefore, there is a good chance that many Android devices in addition to Google’s Pixel phones will support this option by default. Earlier this year the references to the Webcam Service function have already been spotted by telecom journalist Mishaal Rahman.9to5Google writes that if users connect their Pixel device via a USB cable to their PC, they get the option to use the device as a webcam. If they select this option, they will see a video preview that they can customize to their preference.Android 14 will be released on October 4.
