We learned that the dog, named Indio, is actually a Presa Canario. Officials originally thought it was a Cane Corso, which is another breed in the mastiff family.Sgt. Shanna DeLaCruz, the investigations supervisor for Animal Care Services, was called as a witness in this case Thursday.DeLaCruz said the victim in this case was 53-year-old Raymond Zamora.He was walking on the sidewalk and was confronted by the dog's owner, Marcus Davila.During the confrontation, DeLaCruz testified that Zamora bent down at some point, and the dog bit his neck and dragged him to the ground.Zamora went through several surgeries but has now been released from the hospital. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and dangerous dog attack: serious bodily injury. He has posted bond and is due back in court later in October.A business owner said he witnessed the attack and saw the man get bit in the neck by the dog.Investigators say Zamora and Davila have some bad blood between them.There is no word on when the dog will be euthanized.Loading ...
