Gardner tattoos three-dimensional areola tattoos on women who lose their breasts or have reconstruction done due to breast cancer.Breast cancer not only causes hair loss, but for most, they have to go through a mastectomy. The process starts with a free consultation and within two weeks, she can get the areolas tatted. She takes about only an hour and a half or so to complete the tattoo job. This process is meant to help survivor's self esteem. Gardner also let's her patients be in the driver's seat by allowing them to choose the color, size, and placement of the areola. She tells us that it lets her clients take control of their body, again. At the end of it, all the women get to see the results with their own eyes right after the procedure is done. "When they get to walk over to the big mirror and see themselves, there's always happy tears. Always, every time, and each time they all tell me that it's the best thing that they didn't know that they needed," Gardner said.
