(KTUL)Tulsa Animal Welfare announced they will close for one day each month for facility deep cleaning and team training.This new initiative will begin on Oct. 11 and is reportedly being implemented to help provide a safe and healthy environment for the animals, team members, and the community as a whole.These monthly closures will be on the second Wednesday of every month.“We are committed to providing the best possible care for the animals in our shelter,” Sherri Carrier, Animal Shelter Manager, said in a press release. “This monthly closure will allow us to do a deep cleaning of the facility and conduct team training, which will ultimately benefit the animals in our care, our staff, and the community. We appreciate the support and understanding of the community as we take this step to improve our services.” TAW says the deep cleaning will include disinfecting all shelter areas, including animal kennels, offices, and common areas.The team training will focus on improving the staff's knowledge and skills in animal care, handling, and welfare.These monthly closures will also be helpful for providing enhanced enrichment activities for the animals.TAW says they will post regular updates on their social media pages.Loading ...
