Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is one of the most well-themed areas in all of Walt Disney World property. When you enter Galaxy’s Edge, you literally feel immersed in an entirely different land.Disney had a plan to truly immerse guests in a Star Wars-themed world, and they truly have done so with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.What MUST you see and do in Galaxy’s Edge? This list of 5 Things You Must Do in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will give you a guide of experiences you won’t soon forget!Galaxy’s Edge is located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests can enter on the outer edge of Toy Story Land, or walking down Grand Avenue. Either way, there is a themed walkway area to transition guests from one area of the park into Batuu.The planet of Batuu is the setting for Galaxy’s Edge, and a settlement has taken up residence on the Black Spire Outpost. The theming definitely speaks to this. From the droid footprints on the ground, to the smell of the meat market, dirt on the Black Spire Outfitters shop, and the unique language spoken by the Cast Members, you are fully immersed. Galaxy’s Edge is a unique experience whether you are a die-hard or a casual Star Wars fan.RELATED READING: Best Things to Do With Kids at Disney’s Hollywood StudiosGalaxy’s Edge is home to two headliner attractions at Walt Disney World – Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. Both of these immersive attractions are quite different from each other, so you will want to experience them both!Rise of the Resistance is probably one of the most ambitious attractions Disney Imagineers have accomplished. It is an unforgettable battle against the First Order. Rise is super popular, so purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane for this attraction is worth it.Smuggler’s Run is a unique experience from the queue to the attraction itself! While it can see long wait times, and Disney Genie+ is wise on this attraction, the standby queue really is amazing. There are animatronics and great photo ops all along the way.One thing that makes Smuggler’s Run unique is you can plan one of three roles on the ride. The roles of gunner, pilot, and engineer are assigned to you as you enter the ride vehicle. If you ride again, you could possibly have another role.Keeping with the unique theming in Galaxy’s Edge is the Blue and Green Milk Stand. Blue and Green Milk was made famous by Luke Skywalker, so of course it has to be an option in Galaxy’s Edge. This frosty beverage is so unique, and tasty! It’s fun to get a glass and find a spot to watch some of the pop up character performances right in that are in Galaxy’s Edge.While there are several dining options in Galaxy’s Edge, the one that I feel is the best is Docking Bay 7 (read the reviews). This is a Quick Service Dining location and you can use Mobile Order!Docking Bay 7 serves both lunch and dinner as well. The “local” Black Spire eatery has a great, and somewhat eclectic menu. Poke Bowls, stir-fry, and pork ribs are amongst some of the menu items. They also offer a children’s menu, and an allergy friendly menu.RELATED READING: Best Quick Service Dining Locations for Families at Disney WorldFor any die hard Star Wars fan, you cannot leave Galaxy’s Edge without a visit to Savi’s Workshop and / or the Droid Depot. Both of these awesome experiences allow you to build your own light saber or droid to take home with you.In fact, after the Droid Depot, you will see the droids moving about in Galaxy’s Edge as their new owners play with them!Of the two, Savi’s Workshop is my favorite experience. It’s more personal, more “Star Wars” in my opinion. Here you “choose your path” and create your own light saber as you bring it to life through the power of the kyber crystals. Having watched my teenage boys experience this…..at the age of 18….I realized how amazing it is for the true Star Wars fan.At Savi’s Workshop, you choose from four different light saber hilt themes, and build it from there. The entire process is immersive, and somewhat ceremonious. It’s just so amazing, as you are in the workshop and they are telling the story, all building their light sabers together, and then raise them up at the same time at the end.The Droid Depot is more “fun”. It’s a fun environment, where you choose your Droid parts from a conveyor belt while you are in the depot. As you assemble your custom Atromech Unit, you choose from a variety of colorful components to create a BB-Series or an R-Series. I really love this experience for younger kids, as opposed to Savi’s for older kids and adults.Both of these experiences can be pricey. The Droids start at $119 plus tax, and light sabers start at $249 plus tax. Guests also must book a reservation for these experiences, and these can be booked beginning at 60-days from arrival.Taking a trip into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is an experience you won’t soon forget.
