Hi curlfriends! If you know me, you know that I love a good DIY! Lately,&nbsp;I have been hearing other curly girls raving about DIY&nbsp;flaxseed gel and decided that I would try it out! I have been using it for a few weeks now and I absolutely LOVE it and had to share it with you guys! Also major bonus points for the gel being super easy and extremely&nbsp;inexpensive to make! And if you are like me and live in a ridiculously humid area, this gel is for you! I had to stop using my usual hair products because the humidity has been so crazy here in Ohio! This gel holds up amazingly well in the summer heat and humidity but doesn’t leave my&nbsp;hair feeling crunchy or dry!Related Post: How to Summer-Proof Your CurlsI love love love this flaxseed gel and am so excited to share the recipe with you guys! I found this recipe on Youtube by the beautiful Naptural85. Her video is linked here&nbsp;Stir flaxseeds every 30 seconds or so to keep them from sticking to the bottom and sides of the pan. It will take about 5 minutes to bring it to a boil.Continue cooking &amp; stirring occasionally until the mixture is a snot like consistency. (Super gross, but I can’t think of a better, less yucky way of describing it haha) This will take about 5 minutes after turning the heat down to medium. You don’t want the consistency to be too runny or too thick. It took me a few tries to get the consistency&nbsp;juuuuuust&nbsp;right.Allow flaxseed to cool until it is no longer too hot to touch. If you let it sit for too long, just add a little bit of water to the mixture and it will soften back upAgain, this is super gross (but oddly satisfying). My husband judges me so hard every single time I make this gel, but hey… it’s amazing gel! I squeeze the gel out right back into the saucepan since this part can get pretty messy.The gel&nbsp;is pretty goopy, so I think that using a squeeze bottle works best for storing it. I just use an old conditioner bottle and created a cute little label with my husband’s handy-dandy label maker.The gel&nbsp;needs to be stored in the fridge and one batch will last me about 2 weeks!
