The Bigfoot Bash is set for Friday and Saturday in Oscoda.Put on by the Oscoda-AuSable Chamber of Commerce, the 2023 Bigfoot Bash begins Friday, Sept. 29 with a sold-out “Meet/Greet and Eat with the Speakers” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Oscoda VFW Hall.Also sold out is the “Hike in the National Forest” at a “secret place” in the Huron National Forest from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. to search for a sasquatch.However, the sold-out Main Event is on Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shoreline Theater. Guest speakers for the Main Event are Matt Moneymaker, Cliff Barackman, and Adam Davies.According to the chamber’s website:• Cliff Barackman has been doing bigfoot field research since 1994. His expeditions have taken him to 46 states and five continents in search of evidence supporting the existence of undiscovered hominoids worldwide.As the evidence analyst on Animal Planet’s hit television show, Finding Bigfoot, Cliff has applied his skill and expertise to a variety of photographic, video, film, and sound evidence. He has appeared on many other television shows and documentaries as a bigfoot specialist and cryptozoologist. Cliff and his wife, Melissa, own and curate the North American Bigfoot Center in Boring, Ore., which features the largest public collection of bigfoot evidence in the Pacific Northwest.• Matt Moneymaker is a TV personality and the founder and president of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, a commonplace for researchers to share their findings and for local people to report sightings of the mysterious creature known as bigfoot. He was the host and team leader of Animal Planet’s popular documentary series Finding Bigfoot, which ran for 100 episodes over nine seasons between 2011 and 2018.In 1995, he founded the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization and has since devoted his entire career to searching for evidence pointing towards the existence of bigfoot. He has worked closely with TV channels, producing several documentaries and TV shows on the subject, his first being Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science. He joined the cast of Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot in the very first season in 2011.• British Explorer Adam Davies is unique. Simply put, there is no one alive today who has done more active fieldwork to prove the existence of yet-to-be-discovered animals in remote and sometimes dangerous parts of the world. From the dense jungles of the Congo and Sumatra to the Deserts of Mongolia, and the Mountains of Nepal, Adam has traveled the world in search of scientific evidence for the existence of these creatures.Adam has actually brought back real scientific evidence of the creatures he has tracked, a feat unmatched by anyone ever in this field so far.
