I recently got a hopper extension and found that the exhaust duct was too close to the stove so I have to extend it a bit. This requires separating the ducting but I'm finding it impossible to do and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this. I'm using Duravent double-walled 3" ducting and everything is sealed with RTV. I've been unable to pull the ducting apart to insert 6" extension pieces and I've tried using belt wrenches and vice grips to try and force-twist it to the separate but I'm not making any progress.
