As always all opinions are 100% my own and NOT influenced by monetary compensation.Our family started a nightly tradition several years ago that we’ve been pretty steadfast about keeping.&nbsp; Each evening we sit down as a family, (if any of the kids are missing, we still try to do this with whoever is home), and we do several things.&nbsp; First off, we read a chapter in the Bible.&nbsp; We’ve read through the entire Bible together already and are back in the Old Testament again this year.&nbsp; Second, we pray as a family.&nbsp; And third, we do a ‘family hug line’.&nbsp; — As author and family therapist Virginia Satir once said, “We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth”.Our youngest is 1 1/2 and she LOVES our evening routine.&nbsp; She’s made it her job to bring all our Bibles to the owner.&nbsp; Then she likes to stack them up once done.&nbsp; For prayer time, she’s the first to circle up.&nbsp; And when it comes to the hugs, she shouts with joy and hollers ‘hug line’ at this point.&nbsp; It’s so cute to see!&nbsp; What this looks like is we all line up from oldest to youngest and the youngest starts first, giving everyone a hug.&nbsp; Then the next youngest goes down the line.&nbsp; And so on.&nbsp; So everyone gets a hug from everyone in the family.&nbsp;&nbsp;Off and on, we’ve added some extras to our routine but have always kept those three main points.&nbsp; Some of the additions have been a quick game.&nbsp; Sometimes that’s a couple rounds of charades, sometimes it’s a quick game of ‘Out Of The Loop’.&nbsp; For awhile, we quizzed each other on the state capitals and that was always fun to see who could remember the most.&nbsp;&nbsp;So when I saw the Old Testament Handbook, I thought it would be a beneficial addition to our nightly routine.&nbsp; And don’t forget, you can order your copy of the Old Testament Handbook too, starting October 1st!Immediately, I noticed how beautiful this book is.&nbsp; It’s hardcover, which I love.&nbsp; I appreciate how it’s loaded with tons of great info, yet isn’t huge and bulky.&nbsp; The overall design makes it extremely easy to use.&nbsp; It’s color coded by book and has lots of graphs, charts, timelines, and maps that I feel helps bring the information in the Bible to more understandable concepts.This full-color Bible handbook includes robust summary content, charts, maps, word studies, illustrations, and more – for every Old Testament book of the Bible.&nbsp; It’s constructed with high quality cloth cover materials and a sewn binding.&nbsp; The Old Testament Handbook is designed to last a lifetime as a valuable companion resource for Bible study, teaching, and ongoing discipleship.&nbsp;The Old Testament Handbook features highly readable, highly reliable text of the Christian Standard Bible.
