Home » Baking »A couple of months ago, I was driving to a baby shower and needed to kill some time so I wasn’t that awkward person that shows up half an hour early to the party. I found a Crumbl and stopped in to see what cookies they had that week and boy was I elated to find the Oreo cookies and cream milkshake cookie!It was as good as it sounds, with bits of Oreo in the cookie dough and a frosting that tasted like sweet milky goodness! I knew right away this was going to have to be the next cookie recipe I created at home! Seven… yes SEVEN attempts later and by George I think we’ve got it!!!It was harder than I thought it would be to recreate the flavors because most cookies have a rich, buttery flavor, but this one was all sweet. I tried replacing the butter in the cookies for Crisco and it still had too rich of a flavor and the cookies were too crumbly from the lack of butter. I added back in the butter and tried switching out the eggs for heavy whipping cream and that did the trick!After I finally figured out the flavors, I had to figure out why my cookies were flat as paper, then I realized my baking powder and baking soda were old. Got some new baking powder and soda and they turned out beautifully!!Now I hope you can enjoy the fruits of my labor and make these Oreo cookies and cream cookies at home any time you’d like! We’d love to hear about it when you make them!!from votes PrintPreheat oven to 350° and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.In a stand mixer, beat together butter and sugar. Add whipping cream 1/4 cup at a time and the vanilla. Continue to beat until smooth.Add in 2 cups of flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Once the dry ingredients are incorporated, add in the rest of the flour 1/2 cup at a time until the dough pulls away from the edges of the bowl and your dough is soft, but sturdy.Gently mix in broken Oreo cookies. Don't mix too much or you'll just have Oreo dust in your cookies and they will turn out gray.Scoop and roll into 1 1/2 in balls and place on cookie sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes.Let cool completely on a clean dry surface, then frost.Beat Crisco, adding in 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream at a time until smooth and starting to thicken.Add 4 cups powdered sugar and mix until it is incorporated. Continue adding powdered sugar until you reach your desired consistency.Gently stir in broken Oreo pieces, careful not to over mix so they break up too much.Frost cookies. Serve chilled.*If you want the frosting to taste sweet and milky with no richness (like the oreo filling) use crisco, but if you like your frosting to have a richer flavor, use butter. I use both interchangeably and love the recipe both ways, but since butter is what I typically have on hand, I use it more.Delicious cookies!
