Last week the Dinos lost to Saskatchewan 28-12 and were limited to 124 total yards of offense. Calgary had a lot of success defending against the past as they limited Anton Amundrud to 171 yards in the air and 4 interceptions. Although they did allow 184 yards rushing from the Huskies rushing duo of Ryker Frank and Ted Kubongo. The Dinos have a young roster that is still looking for their identity.Manitoba Bisons (1-3): The Manitoba Bisons are coming off their first win which came in overtime over the Regina Rams at home. Jackson Tachinski had a massive day for the Bisons passing for 323 yards and a touchdown as well as rushing for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns in his first game back after missing the week before due to an injury. Manitoba had some difficulty stopping the run as their opponent’s running backs combined for 117 yards on only 12 carries.Last week he was limited to 76 yards as he completed 10 of his 19 passes with 1 interception against UBC. The week before was his first start and he completed 19 of his 33 passes for 251 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception against Regina.Deng had 4 catches last week for 30 yards. The week prior he had 3 catches for 91 yards and a touchdown which came on a 74-yard play.Last week Clarke carried the ball 18 times for 67 yards against Saskatchewan.Sua had 17 carries for 77 yards in week 3 against Regina.Dobson had 2 solo tackles and 4 total tackles. He missed 0 tackles last week had a run stop and helped on 2 other run stops.Last week Mushenza had 3 solo tackles and 5 total tackles. He had 2 QB hurries and 2 run stops as well as a tackle on a fake punt.Last week he jumped a route for a pick 6. He had had another pick 6 from the red zone but it was negated by a teammate’s unnecessary roughness penalty. Beauchemin finished the day with 3 solo and 5 total tackles and 3 interceptions.Last week he punted 11 times averaging 36.5 yards per punt. His longest was a 57-yard punt. He had a big tackle laying down a heavy hit on a long return last week.Tachinski had his best game of the season in my opinion as he completed 27 ov his 40 passes for 323 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 9 times for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns. He made a lot of good throws last week displaying good accuracy and proved to be very dangerous ont he ground. Tachinksi did a great job spreading the ball around and seemed to be going through his progressions quickly as he completed a pass to 10 different players.Stubbs rushed 15 times last week for 88 yards last week averaging 5.9 yards per carry.Adams led the Bisons in receiving yards last week catching 7 passes for 77 yards. He did a good job getting feet down in bounds on a 14-yard catch near the sideline.Gassama had 6 catches last week for 55 yards and rushed once for 7 yards.Kornelson had the most QB hurries last week among defensive linemen by my count. He had 3 solo tackles, a tackle for a loss, 6 QB hurries, and 3 run stops in week 4.Francis had 1 sack, 4 QB hurries, and helped with a run stop last week.Last week Thomas had 6 solo tackles, a tackle for a loss, and an assisted tackle. He also had 3 QB hurries, a run stop, and 2 stops against pass plays.Turner not only became the first woman to play a football game at the U-Sports level last week but also the first one to score as she made both of her field goals and all 3 extra points. Her longest field goal was a 21 yarder and she displayed good composure making her field goal in overtime.Calgary did a great job defending the pass last week but at times this season have had too many missed tackles and struggled against the run. With Jackson Tachinski being such a strong running quarterback I think he is well suited to play the Dinos defense.
