In this post, I’ll share my secrets to hosting a buzz-worthy bee-themed Mother's Day brunch to help you create the perfect bee-themed tablescape that celebrates Mom, complete with a stunning DIY Wildflower Meadow centerpiece made with Silk Flowers.Before we dive into this tablescape, I want to say “thank you” to&nbsp;Mary from Home is Where the Boat Is&nbsp;and&nbsp;Pam from Everyday Living&nbsp;for allowing me to join them again for the April edition of Tea on Tuesdays, a celebration of tea on the third Tuesday of every month! They graciously allowed me to have tea with them last month when I created a St. Patrick's Day table. I'm including links to their tables below.For my table this month, I decided to go big for Mother's Day!I love to find ways to make Mother's Day feel fresh every year. My mom loves Paris so one year I created a Paris-themed Mother’s Day party, but I don’t like to repeat the same themes… so I know that finding the perfect way to celebrate can be a challenge.This year I’ve created a whole new table theme that I’m hoping you are going to love as much as I do! And to help you recreate it, I’m going to share my secrets to hosting a buzz-worthy bee-themed Mother's Day brunch! From choosing the perfect tableware to creating stunning decorations, this post will show you how to create a magical garden setting that celebrates your mom and leaves a lasting impression on your guests. Plus, I’ll teach you how to make a DIY Wildflower Meadow centerpiece with Silk Flowers that will be the talk of the town. So grab a cup of tea and get ready to learn the secret to hosting the ultimate Mother's Day celebration.To create a buzz-worthy bee-themed Mother's Day brunch, choosing the right tableware is key. You'll want to keep the theme in mind when selecting plates, glasses, and utensils. Look for items with honeycomb patterns, bee motifs, or yellow and black color schemes, for a traditional bee-themed table.As you can see here, I broke with tradition and decided to create a garden-themed table that I felt the bees would want to enjoy (and my family too!). My table is filled with soft blues, pops of pink, peach, red, and yellow, and some sparkle with gold accents!The inspiration for my place setting came when I found these beautiful bees at Target earlier this year. They're not quite a bowl and not quite a plate, but they're 100% adorable!My table base is a cream matelasse coverlet that is taking a turn as a table linen. Atop this, I placed a beloved square April Cornell table linen.I mixed and matched china plates to create a layered place setting. The base plate and salad plate are from Walmart. They are The Pioneer Woman's “Sweet Rose” pattern. Atop the salad plate, I added a vintage English Clare china cake plate. I stumbled upon this pattern when I was in England several years ago and I very carefully packed the pieces in my suitcase. It is so pretty and I was so smitten by the aqua blue and yellow accents of the china. I don't know the pattern name, but I just love it! I'm still looking for more pieces to complete this set. I hope to one day find a teapot in this pattern!On a recent trip to Hobby Lobby my husband and I spotted some beautiful bee-themed entertaining accents that I knew would be perfect for this bee-themed Mother's Day brunch. I scooped up these beautiful bee napkin rings and bee tumblers. The etched goblets are vintage that I picked up at an antique store a while back. I'm always on the lookout for pretty etched glassware and love to mix and match it into place settings.Adding a colored beverage like pink lemonade is an easy way to bring a little extra color to your table setting.The flatware is more of the (shhh! don't tell!) plastic flatware that I found at HomeGoods recently. I used the pink version here on my Easter Brunch Table.I also mixed things up a little bit with my napkins. Some are cotton and linen napkins and others are linen napkins with a little crochet trim accent. They are both favorite finds from Pier One – a store I still dearly miss! Using the same colored napkins allowed me to add texture and interest without causing visual noise or confusion at the table. Plus, I only had two of the cotton and lace ones and I really wanted to incorporate them.With the right tableware, you'll create a buzzing ambiance that will make your mom feel extra special. OK, now that we've got your tableware covered, let's move on to creating buzz-worthy decorations!Before we dive into how I made this centerpiece, I want to assure you that creating buzz-worthy decorations doesn't have to be a daunting task; in fact, there are plenty of simple and affordable ways to achieve the look you desire.Masses of yellow and white wildflowers for example would create a chic yet relaxed centerpiece and keep with the theme, or mix and match with other vibrant colors to create a meadow-like setting.Whether using real or silk flowers, containers are a critical foundation for beautiful arrangements. Teapots, china cups, pitchers, silver tea set pieces, or even rustic mason jars, terra cotta pots, and vintage watering cans can all be employed en masse to create a charming centerpiece.And you don't have to stop with the flowers. Consider adding bee decorations into the vignette to further enhance the theme. Bee skeps, statuary, and other playful garden elements will help add visual interest to create a whimsical and playful vibe.Meadow-style flower arrangements are in vogue right now and I was eager to find a way to incorporate this trend into a tablescape this season. Mother's Day was the perfect opportunity! This over-the-top centerpiece is a wonderful way to take your Mother's Day brunch to the next level because she can't help but feel special seeing this opulent array of blooms!Best of all, it's actually not a hard arrangement to recreate and you could use it indoors or out. Please note that if you use it outdoors I don't recommend leaving it outside unattended.This arrangement was created using a rectangular wooden frame covered with metal hardware cloth and then filled with blooms and some extra embellishments which were placed on pedestals. A giant “thank you” to my husband for building the frame for me! The dimensions for my frame are 44″ long by 14.5″ wide, but of course, you can make yours whatever size you need to fit your table.Because I used silk flowers and the grid on the Hardware Cloth is so tight, I did not need anything like floral foam to anchor the flowers. Being able to skip that step helped this arrangement to come together fairly quickly.Determine the size of frame that you need for your table. Be sure to leave enough space on all sides for your place setting. I allowed a minimum of 14 inches for my place setting.Cut wood to the size you desire.You can cut your wood corners at an angle or keep them straight.Attach each section of wood to each other using screws or nails.Attach the hardware cloth to the frame with staples. Note: even though I was using a staple gun, I had to use a hammer to tap the staples all the way into the wood.Place any big accent items you want to include BEFORE adding the flowers.Prepare your silk flowers (see note for fresh flowers below if you decide to use those). My flowers came connected in little bouquets. I used a wire cutter to cut the plastic stems apart.Arrange your flowers starting with the tallest ones in the center and working your way outwards with shorter stems. I kept my stems long (so I'd be able to reuse them in the future) and just bent them to the height I desired.Include greenery and other natural elements such as twigs, moss, or stones to add texture and interest.Finally, place Spanish Moss or something similar to hide the frame edges.If you make this with fresh flowers, you will need to make a few adjustments. I also would recommend doing this either the night before or the morning of your event to ensure your flowers are fresh and vibrant.Proceed with the directions above with these adjustments for fresh flowers:You will need to add a bottom to your frame.Line the bottom with plastic or other material to make it waterproof.Add a base of Floral Oasis, which you have soaked in a solution of water and flower food per Oasis instructions. (Tip: Mixing the water with flower food will help lengthen the life of your cut flowers)Your DIY wildflower meadow centerpiece is now complete!When it comes to hosting a Mother's Day tea party, there are a few key things to ensure a successful event. First, make sure to plan your menu with care, opting for light bites and delicate pastries that pair well with tea. Additionally, take the time to set a beautiful table, complete with floral arrangements and charming place settings. You might even consider incorporating a few fun activities, like flower arranging or tea tasting, to keep things lively and engaging.With these tips in mind, you'll be well on your way to hosting a memorable and enjoyable Mother's Day tea party.Want a delicious dessert?
