We start school in August, so by the time September rolls around, everyone is finally in the swing of things, and my classroom is running smoothly. Well…as smoothly as possible!&nbsp;I boost my pre-k curriculum with these Hands-On September Math and Literacy Centers. We enjoy decorating our classroom with apple-themed activities. Our room looks so cute with these paper plate apples and paper bag apple crafts. We use apple alphabet puzzles as a hands-on way to practice identifying letters, and we build our names with apples using this editable name activity. Plus, my students love to do this apples science unit, especially the taste test part!&nbsp;As we get further into September, I introduce the season of fall with this fall season science unit. It helps everyone get excited and curious about the new season. This interactive reader is also great to throw into your lesson plans, or to leave with a substitute too!&nbsp;And while I could study apples and fall all day long, we do have to squeeze in some math and literacy somewhere during the day. Your students will have a blast sequencing the steps of how to rake leaves, unscrambling sentences about apples and colors, practicing sorting letters and words, and playing a fun, editable hide-and-seek game. These centers work great in a pocket chart center, a rug center, or any table where the pieces can be spread out.&nbsp;Write &amp; Wipe Centers and PuzzlesPuzzles and write and wipe centers are so easy to set up and fun for the kids to do. I definitely suggest making these sturdy with cardstock and lamination, but the write and wipe activities could also be put in a page protector. As always, we’ve given you black and white options in case you want them to be consumable. The September write and wipe activities for pre-k literacy are focused on writing skills. One activity will have the students tracing lines and working on grip, control, and other pre-writing skills. The other write and wipe activity is focused on tracing uppercase and lowercase letters. Your pre-k students will be ready to write after working on these two activities! The two September literacy puzzles were made to practice upper and lowercase letters and rhyming words.&nbsp;Write the Room&nbsp;Have you used write the room activities with your students before? The first time is a little crazy, something about giving them all that freedom makes the classroom a bit hectic, but after a few times, they get into the routine of the activity and love the independence of it.
