Wish there was more context, like have any other study abroad students going to other universities been barred from leaving the country. Context is broad about the general treatment of women in Afghanistan by the Taliban government, but article focuses on quotes from the businessman and philanthropist involved in funding the girl's education at the University of Dubai. I'm sure it has something to do with the Taliban not wanting women to be educated, but there's just key missing information that might help me feel sure that's what's happening. Usually to save face, governments don't like admitting their holding their citizens hostage in their own countries without due cause.
