This is a well-written piece that does a wonderful job tying together the disastrous 2023 summer 'from hell', with wildfires, record-breaking heat, huge floods/rain, and more. It's easy to see these terrible events in isolation without broadening your perspective to take them all into account at once. This article really shines in doing just that. Very well done.
