NewsAuthorities have arrested a 32-year-old Kansas man for violating a quarantine order due to his exposure to someone who has COVID-19.Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said deputies arrested Tyler Witten of&nbsp;Great Bend on Friday, after several attempt to get him to comply with the order.&nbsp;“Thursday, we had information that he was in violation of the quarantine order causing disturbances around town," Sheriff Bellendir said.&nbsp;On Friday, I received a call from the Great Bend Police Department that he was causing a disturbance at another residence in the city."After conversations with the health director, county attorney and district court, he then made the decision to arrest Witten. He told the county commission Monday that it was the last thing he wanted to do since Witten's presence in the jail could compromise the health of other inmates.&nbsp;“We were faced with an impossible decision,” Bellendir said. Do I allow this person to continually run around the community potentially exposing the community to COVID-19, or do I potentially expose my inmates in the jail. I chose to err on the side of the public.”There is a quarantine area in the jail.The reports that the sheriff's office has assisted in delivering 99 isolation and quarantine orders in the county.
