Content looks at several causes of student debt, minus the obvious. The Sam Zell effect was not included in the article. Housing has risen at an enormous rate in every college town across the country. Housing costs are the main culprit why students face so much debt. Investors have been exploiting students for the past fifty years as they continue to acquire a monopoly on apartments surrounding universities. Universities have capitalized on student housing in recent decades, providing less than capable laundry services, prison food supplies, and substandard ventilation. Content focuses on debt forgiveness and fails to report on whom was responsible for creating the student debt system that is exempt from bankruptcy protection.
