Trump peddled falsehoods that the election had been stolen and that former Vice President Mike Pence had the power to reject electors from certain states.“If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore,” Trump said in his speech at the “Stop the Steal” rally that preceded the riot. He was eventually impeached for the second time by Congress for inciting an insurrection.The fundraising appeal’s rhetoric combined with the image of a firearm is “unsafe and irresponsible” said Executive Director Gyl Switzer of Texas Gun Sense, an organization that advocates for strengthened gun laws.
