WellMed’s vaccination hotline only received 59 calls on Sunday — down from about 8 million calls in one day back in January, officials said.The demand decreased to about 1,000 calls a day in April.“We have made a lot of progress, but the COVID-19 pandemic is by no means over. Too many people are still dying or getting sick from this terrible virus,” WellMed Medical Group President Dr. Carlos Hernandez said in a news release. “The best thing you can do today to help fight COVID-19 is to get vaccinated.”More than 175,000 people in San Antonio have been vaccinated through WellMed, officials said.To register for the COVID-19 vaccine at the Cisneros Center, call 833-968-1745.
