Louisville Courier JournalView CommentsA Kentucky State Representative candidate was reportedly arrested Saturday on charges of&nbsp;leaving an accident scene, not wearing a seat belt and driving intoxicated.&nbsp;Lexington-area TV station that&nbsp;, who is running to represent the 88th District, was involved in a crash on&nbsp;Boonesboro Road in Richmond while not wearing a seat belt.&nbsp;The TV station also reported that witnesses told officials that before Mundy crashed into a ditch, the Republican candidate was seen driving on the wrong side of Lexington Road.&nbsp;Mundy was booked at and later released from the Madison County Detention Center, according to WKYT.&nbsp;WKYT reported the crash happened around 10:15 p.m. and Richmond station that Mundy was booked around midnight. &nbsp;Mundy released a statement on Monday apologizing and saying what happened wouldn't happen again.&nbsp;Her full statement:&nbsp;“It is with great remorse that I apologize for my actions on Saturday evening. I apologize to my family, my colleagues, and my community. While the news reports are distorted and based on hearsay, I made a mistake. I still feel that this is God’s calling for my life and I am thankful to serve a forgiving Savior. For those of you that know me personally, you know that this is not my normal behavior. I used bad judgment to make a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone that was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. I am sorry for any action that has caused concern, disappointment, or doubt. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened in my life. I will work tirelessly to restore your confidence in me, and I guarantee that it will not happen again.
