The usual CNN dramatization of US State Dept talking points, along with a very limited view of the history leading up to the current conflict. Absent from this article is any reference to Philippine President Duterte's campaign of extrajudicial killings that has increased public resistance to his rule, as well as the massive increase of US military & drones in the region which has resulted in far more deaths & human rights abuses than the enemy CNN claims they are fighting.
Articles like this do little more then lay out a hollow pretext for increased US militarism around the world, while obfuscating any real analysis or historical context of the conflict involved.
