HAYWARD — Alameda County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a man early Saturday in unincorporated Hayward after he opened fire at police, grazing a deputy’s head, the sheriff’s office said.The shooting occurred at about 4 a.m. on the 24900 block of Second Street, Sgt. Ray Kelly said in a brief news release hours later.A sheriff news release identified the man only as a 26-year-old “with an extensive and violent criminal history for shootings, assaults, robbery, weapons, burglary and auto theft.” His name has not yet been released.Kelly said that the office received calls that a man was “threatening” people with a gun and sent deputies to search the area on foot and set up a perimeter.
