The following day she was spotted just a few miles away from where she was taken."They had taken her collar off. I guess people in the neighborhood saw this dog without a collar, and she was frothing at the mouth and told their kids don't touch her,” Morrissey said.Then, she got a heart-breaking call."I couldn't be there when my son had to lift the lifeless body of his dog up,” she told us.Morrissey believes Abby was left without water for too long and died."She had a lousy last twenty-four hours,” she said.Abby was taken back to Nashville and buried in their backyard. When her son, JC, was returning to Chattanooga, he got stuck in standstill traffic. Turned out it was because a dog was running on the freeway."He pulled over and opened the door. In jumps this hug Great Dane mix,” Morrissey said.They contacted the owner and haven't heard back, so they are taking care of the dog in the meantime."We've rescued Charlie or Charlie has rescued us,” Morrissey said.But, Morrissey says, this isn't over."They're going to get caught,” she told us.Chattanooga Police want to find whoever is responsible for this. I heard my car door slam, the tires squeal, looked up, saw my car speeding away with a truck in front of it,” she told us.Kimberly chased after them for a few blocks before they got too far away.She was left standing in the dark without a car, wallet, or I.D., but most importantly her dog."She's deaf and partially blind, and she doesn't have her medicine,” Jon told us.Kimberly immediately filed a police report and Chattanooga Police issued an area-wide BOLO."I feel violated deeply and angry," Jon said.Jon has not stopped looking for the dog. He plans to do so until he gets answers."God forbid somebody just took the car on a joy ride and left her in there.
