NewsAs long as you have your mobile device at Gila River Arena, everything checks out.The Coyotes are introducing a new purchasing technology that will keep things moving, and even make fans safer in this time of COVID-19 and social distancing.Through an innovation developed by VenueNext, a Silicon Valley-based technology company, Coyotes fans will be able to buy food, beverage and merchandise items simply by scanning product codes straight from their phones.The new feature is now built into the systems used by Levy Restaurants and Legends Global Merchandise, the Coyotes' food and beverage and retail partners. (The "Scan &amp;&nbsp;Go" stands for Levy are located at Section 115 across from Streets of New York Pizza, and at Section 119 across from Cold Beers &amp; Cheeseburgers).Coyotes President and CEO Xavier Gutierrez said the partnership and app is a result of the team's focus on creating a safer -- and more convenient -- setting for fans."There have been some lessons learned from the pandemic that we can build on and create a better experience for our fans in the future," Gutierrez said.Gutierrez is optimistic that the benefits of this new technology will prove to be even more advantageous once things return to normal.The Coyotes are one of two professional sports teams -- the NBA's Orlando Magic is the other -- to partner with VenueNext to beta test the technology.&nbsp;VenueNext CEO Anthony Perez stresses the power of the mobile devices the fans have with them at live events, such as Coyotes games."Our philosophy has always been that commerce truly requires just one piece of hardware: the device the fan brings with them," Perez said in a statement.
