Virginia had entered the 2021 NCAA Tournament as the defending national champion after winning the "Big Dance" in 2019 before the 2020 NCAA Tournament was cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.Due to the pandemic, the entirety of this year's tournament will be played in Indiana. Saturday's game between Ohio and Virginia was played at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana.In advancing to the Round of 32, the Bobcats outlasted fellow Ohio schools Ohio State and Cleveland State.
