Melody Cutler with Unified Police said it appears Mendoza was trying to get away from the shooters when his car hit a wall in the parking lot of a church.The motive for the shooting is not known, but Cutler said one of two victims who is in the hospital is able to speak and is talking to detectives.In the meantime, she said the search continues for the suspects, described only as Black men. (Photo: KUTV)Cutler said the suspects are considered armed and dangerous and members of the public who see them should not approach them, but call 911 instead.The mother and siblings of Garcia Mendoza joined the group of friends who grieved for him.Tanya Darr, another coworker who saw Garcia Mendoza one week ago, said she recalled he stopped by to give her a hug and see her new car. She never imagined it would be the last time she’d see her friend.She said people in the community have to know who owns the car with faded, red paint and who shot her friend. She asks they come forward immediately and tell police what they know.His sisters, brothers, all deserved to have him here and for some lowlife to take his life is beyond comprehension. I want justice,” she said.
