In the past many medicine inventors have kept their invention in open domain to help people.So if Indian drug companies manufacture Remdesivir for local use, would that be tantamount to patent infringement? Gilead USA has the patent but can give other companies just product development ant testing rights, without itself being liable for litigation(s). Is this the case?Obviously we are all hoping this drug proves to be highly potent in curing Covid-19 patients, although it’s original intent was to fight the Ebola virus, which it failed at doing.
