As of 5 p.m.:Additionally, 173 correctional officers are positive for COVID-19, as are 32 other Cook County Sheriff’s employees.There are 129 employees who previously tested positive who are now recovered and have returned to work.5:45 p.m.The Chicago Pride Parade for the first time in the event’s history due to the COVID-19 pandemic.4:00 p.m.The Naperville City Council unanimously voted to extend the local state of emergency and disaster that was declared in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The declaration is now in effect until May 19.3:00 p.m., held a week before the parade, has been postponed. According to the , the parade is still on.11:20 a.m.The Indiana State Department of Health announced Wednesday a state total of 12,438 coronavirus cases and 661 deaths.10:55 a.m.Cook County Board President Preckwinkle, joined by the Cook County Department of Public Health, Cook County Department of Emergency Management and Regional Security and area first responders, will announce the availability of respite housing for suburban Cook County healthcare professionals, first responders and correctional officers.You can watch the news conference in the player below:9:15 a.m.A pregnant woman in her 30s is the first inmate at Lake County Jail in Waukegan to test positive for COVID-19.She was arrested last week by North Chicago Police on multiple charges, including felony retail theft and felony theft.
