While the author made his position clear about how he feels about the DNC, which affects how the rest of the information is perceived, I believe this is a contextual article on a very high-level strategy by the DNC.
I'd like to know the effects of this strategy in further detail and how the Republicans could potentially "seize upon for attacks." But overall it might not be the right thing to do either way because the climate is at such risk.
