A worthwhile read, not just for the scientifically or environmentally inclined, but for the layman as well. Prospective readers will come away well, better and more broadly informed.

A refreshingly non-political article that provided so much interesting information into the effects of the Amazon fires on wildlife. Especially interesting that the Amazon hasn't burned like this, and isn't designed to burn like US forests, in thousands of years. Why now?

The article has credible sources from scholarly institutions giving a bit of educated speculation about what can happen. Since there is a lot that is, as of yet, unknown; I would like to see this get updated as the situation evolves and gets resolved. Ultimately, accurate information with full accounting of events is the best outcome.
