An unfortunate story but from a balanced point of view. Multiple people from the Pacific Standard as well as spokesperson for Sage Publishing commented on the story and the author tried to reach one of the original founders of the org too. Comprehensive.

This is an emotionally disappointing, but well reported story. The author does well to provide the context and quotes necessary to bring this unfortunate series of events to light. The only thing I felt was missing from the piece was the financial figures. It would have been helpful to understand the Pacific Standard's revenues and expenses, since that is the heart of the problem and a challenge facing so many newsrooms today.
