&nbsp;Tuesday, Sep 13th 2022|A 3D-printed house described as America's first 'home built by robots' has gone on sale for $300,000 in New York - with developers boasting that the method could 'help solve the affordable housing crisis'.&nbsp;The three-bedroom Long Island property which is made from concrete and comes with two bathrooms and a garage was put together in a computerized process which requires as few as three construction workers on site.&nbsp;The novel building method makes it a fairly inexpensive property on the notoriously pricey Long Island, with real estate agents claiming the $299,999 price tag makes it half the price of other new-builds in the Riverhead area.&nbsp; 3D-printing firm SQ4D brags that it can build a home in as little as 48 hours of 'printing' time, predicting that the technology will 'forever change the construction industry'.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The firm says its 'autonomous robotic construction systems' or ARCS can reduce total construction costs by 70 per cent and speed up the whole process by a factor of three.&nbsp;In addition to the newly-listed property in Riverhead, the company has previously built a 'practice run' home in Patchogue and another 3D-printed home in Calverton, both also on Long Island.&nbsp;&nbsp;A real estate listing invites prospective buyers of the Riverhead home to 'own a piece of history', touting the property's 'sustainable building process' and high energy efficiency.&nbsp;&nbsp;The relatively low price 'represents a major step towards addressing the affordable housing crisis plaguing Long Island', said real estate agent Stephen King.&nbsp;'This technology will change America, the environment, and history. Just like Ford brought vehicles to the masses, SQ4D makes new construction achievable for everyone,' he predicted.&nbsp;&nbsp; The Riverhead property, the components of which were printed on site, is reportedly the first home in the US to receive a certificate of occupancy.The home features 1,400 square feet of living space as well as a 750sqft garage. It has two bathrooms and an open floor plan and is built with concrete, rather than a conventional wood frame.&nbsp;It has all the amenities you would expect in a traditionally built house including air conditioning and gas heating, according to .The house is guaranteed to last at least 50 years, though it is expected to last much longer, according to the press release from SQ4D.
